Team Mechanics

Teams serve as a way of keeping the souls of its members intact. The characters are dead, and the natural inclination of the dead is for their souls to slowly degrade into nothing, leaving them as empty husks. A character’s relationship with their team will have an effect on them, both physically and psychologically. Disloyalty, apathy, hostility or emotional distance from your team can cause things like nightmares, sickness, weakness, and even corruption. Conversely, being loyal to and close to your team will make you stronger, healthier, more vibrant and more resistant to the dark forces at work in the forest.

Because the members’ souls are tied together, they share an empathic bond. This can be strong or weak depending on a character’s nature, their emotional attachment to the team, physical distance, and whatever you decide is most fun for you OOCly. Characters can feel when their teammates are in pain, sense when they are lying, feel when they are scared, angry or depressed. They also can shared in their teammates’ happiness and strength.

Teams with furthermore be expected to compete against other teams in games (voluntarily or otherwise) and to work together within their teams to overcome challenges and win back lost memories — and prevent current ones from being lost.
