Played by mora The Horned God caprinae An Arbiter in the form of a goat skull mask fused to the face. They host games and challenges, sometimes of a brutal and violent nature. They seem to like flowers. Played by k The Snake Skull aesculapian A soft-spoken, friendly seeming Arbiter. Offers both healing and many supplies a shade might desire, but always for a price. Prefers the personal touch. Played by opal The Plague Bearer typhoidfairy A small, exuberant fairy host with a stiff, solemn mouse skull Arbiter, the Bearer would rather study the effects of illness and shade reactions to it... Played by rin Glassensyke whishthound A big black shadow hound with a wolf's skull over its face. They speak in a low, hushed voice and have a vague and somehow lonesome air about them. Friendly and curious of Shades, offering healing and, unfortunately, bad luck. Played by kam Verrotte abhuman An Arbiter with a heart made of witchweed. Capricious. Has a firm handshake and has been known to plant seeds in people's bodies. Very classy. A pair (?) of personalities -- it should follow that one is a Shade and one is an Arbiter, but...? Played by kaz Lunette love_yourself A princess arbiter with flowing blond hair and an appreciation for nice, good, pure things. That's right; this is cinnamon roll territory. Won't you show her that your heart hasn't completely died? She likes to spook you. Played by Ginko Astra arbored A young arbiter in the form of a bougainvillea flower crown, hosted by a hero ally of justice with dragon bits. Stern but not intentionally cruel. Played by aj Hyacinth & Jacinth allelopathetic An Arbiter of gemstone, in a Host of vines and petals. An old and established Arbiter, renowned for being fair and just. Recently awoken again after hibernation. Played by youji Verte lithiumvein An arbiter with a long cluster of green tourmaline skewered into their back. Occasionally, it's framed with fairy-like wings. Too enthusiastic about trying new things. Played by kaz Dakki & Jadeite cleverlikea An Arbiter as cruel as her unnaturally beautiful host. Who says sex, blood, and an extravagant party can't happen all at the same time? Not this one. A constantly changing noh mask worn by a constantly changing tanuki, her 'natural' form seems to be that of someone from her host's past. Has some sort of facial paralysis? Speaks entirely in monologues. Played by mora Moira the Toman gamblersfallacy A passionate artist with coins over her eyes and a tendency to see all shades as canvases for her art. Played by eastling Charlotte dollification A doll arbiter with as many personalities as hair colors. Is her host one of the personalities, or...? Well, she's here to learn so teach her well. Bad habits are easy to pick up. Played by Celi Audemars horarum An Arbiter in the form of a pocket watch. The Host seems to have been some kind of dollmaker in life? One-eyed, one-armed, and one-legged, with prosthetics for it. Has perhaps a little too much faith in this bunch of losers. Played by Mori Chali shofeth A proper lady with the stature of a king. As she walks, the chains from her shackled ankles drag, and drag, and drag... Played by kaz The Baku hushabye A pair of small baku. Hardly seen apart from each other, and never seen without their top hats. Curious and eccentric. Tries to sate their large appetites, but it's never enough. Played by Marie & Celi Princess Dianna Alexandria Victoria acastleintheair The host of this plush toy arbiter, a young girl with an upbeat if bossy attitude, seems to be the primary personality. She fully believes that her new role as an arbiter is her duty as a Princess of Heaven: to guide you wayward sheep to victory. Played by Gil Amor putawingonit A beautiful winged woman who adores and devotes herself to the concept of love--whatever the cost. Don't worry: she's fair. Played by eastling Hani devoring An existence who was corrupted and "abandoned". Now left hollow and starving, he's like an all-consuming flame devouring whatever he can. Played by Moelle Code by bannertech. NPC Applications Because of the rules governing the forest as a testing ground for the dead, NPCs can fall into two categories. They can be one of the 'natural' residents of the underworld — that is, an Arbiter — or they can be shades that failed to prove themselves worthy of redemption and were fully corrupted. You do not have to apply for an NPC in order to run a game. You can make up a quick one-off NPC just for a game, use 'projections' from your character's subconscious as temporary gamerunners, have the game work without any particular NPC running it (something like having the rules expressed in written form), or even borrow another person's NPC if you want. Basically, applying for NPCs is something to do if you're interested in playing a character rather than just a mechanism for game running. You can apply for an NPC with the intention of playing them long term, or with the intention of only keeping them around for a short period. NPCs can run games but they don't have to. You can then pitch your idea and we'll let you know if anything needs changing.
