corruption

As characters progress more and more into the game and interact more with the Spill, they'll start to become corrupted. Alternatively, if they're part of the team Sakura, they'll be corrupted from the get-go.

All non-Sakura characters are low-key corrupted upon entering the game. Sakura characters will experience moderate to high levels of corruption upon entering the game.

Symptoms of corruption include:

• Increased strength, power (magic and otherwise), energy levels and health.
• Increase in body temperature, due to being more “alive.”
• Bleeding increases (as opposed to the slow bleeding shades normally have, since they are semi-dead) and healing speed increases as well.
• Increased sensation, including pain and sense of touch/taste/smell, plus sight and hearing.
• Hunger. In extreme cases this manifests as hunger for flesh -- raw, and eventually that of people.
• Berserking -- when fighting, corrupted shades will sometimes just go nuts, frenzied bloodlust and adrenaline spikes, etc. This grants them extra strength and resilience.
• Erratic moods, particularly manic behavior and anger/destructive impulses/excitement.
• Increased desire to live. Corruption comes with a very, very strong compulsion to return to life. (this means that if you have a character who wouldn't normally care about returning to life, you can use corruption to give them the will to live.)
